Navigation Notes: If we refer to tabs on the left or tabs on the right below and you do not see these tabs, click on the >> or << button near the top left or right to open these tab panels.  When these tab panels are closed, you can also open them by clicking anywhere on the light blue bar below the button.  If you open the panel in this way, then the panel will automatically close by itself when the mouse pointer leaves the panel.

Searching Voters
You can search PROCINCT by last name and street across all precincts.  Simply type in a part of the name and/or street you are searching for and type ENTER or click the search button. A last name of Rob and a street of Hid would match 'Ron Robinson' on 'Hidalgo' for instance.

You can also search last name, first name if you put a comma between the two such as smi, sal would match Sally Smith (and probably many others).

Search hints: Shorter parts of names work better than full names.  Example: if I am looking for a voter named Sorenson, I may not know whether that voter spells his name Sorenson or Sorensen - searching on Soren will find both.  Do not use Ave or St (etc) when searching by street name.

Voter Lists
Voter lists are primarily dependent on party.  If your voter file did not supply us with a party marker for each voter you will not be able to search/list on party, but you can still improvise.

If you try to list voters on 'REPUBLICAN' (for instance) and get no results, then your file did not indicate the party of each voter, and we can't search on info that's not there.  What you might try instead if you are going to walk part of your precinct today, is do a search on all or part of the street name you are going to walk.  Do the same again with the second street you intend to walk.  This will give you the basic lists that will get you out on the street meeting your neighbors.

Voter List vs. Voter Search
These 2 methods of seeking voter info are mutually exclusive.  If you search by last name or street, you will get matches of all parties.  If you click the Get Voters (you want a list) then the 'Street' and 'Last Name' blanks are ignored.

Click on the voter number at the left of any listing to edit that voter record.  Only limited information can be edited currently.  This is done to preserve your database integrity and authority.  Soon we will offer you a resource that will allow you to define which fields you want your workers to be able to edit - we recommend that you use this very judiciously.

An Important Note on Voter Lists & Query Expense
It's a pretty daring undertaking to offer PROCINCT for free nationwide.  The reason for this is that so many lists required by precinct captains are very long lists.  Long lists make our servers work hard and take up a lot of internet bandwidth - resources we want to conserve so PROCINCT can continue to be free to you.

That said, you will ensure that PROCINCT can continue on a free basis if you do the following:
1.  As soon as you run a list, click the link in upper right for the printable copy of that list.
2.  When that printable list appears, right click on the document and select 'Save As' and save the list to your computer, paying attention to the folder that you save the list in so you can find it later.  Give the filename you are saving a unique filename that describes what is in the list so that saving the next list you save does not overwrite another list you saved previously.  We've helpfully provided a 'Print Copy of Last List' link that will let you get the last list you ran if you forget and go back to the search dialog without saving your list.  This link will not work for reports you ran before your last log in.

Getting Your Workers Online With You
The most convenient way to get your worker online to work with you is in the 'Share PROCINCT' tab on the left of your screen, in the 'Invite by Email' section.  Simply paste up to 10 email addresses in the 'Email addresses field, separated by new lines, spaces or ; characters.  If you check the 'Include Link to Donation Page' that link will be included in the email (be sure to set your donation Paypal address on the District Control tab before you do this!).

You workers will be sent a nice email with the link to the 'Join' page and instructions on which district to join (same as yours).  After they log in and join your district, they will appear in the right of your PROCINCT page on the 'Volunteers' tab as volunteers that need to be assigned.   You now need to approve this worker.  We'd suggest that you do a search on their last name and street to determine which precinct they live in and assign them to that precinct.  You then assign them a work title as a District or Precinct worker.  When you click the 'Approve and Assign' button, that worker can now log in and work in PROCINCT.  They will be sent an email informing them that their login has been approved.  District workers can approve other new workers and can cross from precinct to precinct.  Precinct workers cannot.

If you cannot approve a worker because you don't know them or they are outside your geographic area, please choose 'DECLINE and REASSIGN' - this will place to candidate back in 'TEMP' status and when they log in, they will NOT be admitted to your district/project - they will be invited to either join another district/project or to upload their voter file for their area.  A nice email is sent to them explaining this at the time you click.

All District workers are allowed to cross precincts and work in any precinct they wish.  Precinct workers can only work in the precinct where they are assigned.  Later, we will implement a 'Precinct Next Door' program that will allow you to assign a second (or more) precinct to workers in a given precinct so you can spawn new teams of precinct workers by having existing precinct captains and their teams develop the 'precinct next door'.

The Pledge System
PROCINCT allows you to raise funds for your local (district or county) effort.

To use the pledge system you must first set your 'District Paypal Email' to the Paypal ID (email address) you want to use.  Sending folks to the pledge/donation page without setting this will cause the pledge/donation page to ask for a contribution to PROCINCT.  As soon as you have set your Paypal ID (email address) then the donation page points at YOUR Paypal account.

After you have done this, you are ready to accept pledges.

When editing any voter (see above) there is a pledge blank.  If you fill a $ amount into this pledge blank (be sure you have an accurate email address for them!) that pledge amount is stored as part of that voter record.  At the same time, a pledge email is sent to that voter with a link to their customized ("Thank you John, for your $35 pledge!') pledge page.  When they go to the pledge page and pay on their pledge, the donations field on that voter record is automatically updated with the total they have given so far.  The pledge page also acts as a generic donation page for your district.  The link to your generic donation page is on the 'Share PROCINCT' tab on the left.

The Delegation System
On the Precinct Control Tab on the left is a control that allows you to delegate a task to any other worker in your district and set a deadline for that task.  Your workers also have this control so they can 'delegate' tasks to you.

Type what you want done in the text box, set a deadline date (you can leave this blank) and choose the person you wish to  delegate that task to and click the button.  The person you delegate that task to will see the task appear on their 'Delegated to Me' tab in the upper left next time they refresh their page.  When they have completed the task assigned, they can click the 'Mark Complete' link to dismiss the task.  Clicking anywhere else on the task will hide the task until the page is refreshed.

District News System
District/Precinct/PROCINCT News is the first thing you will see in the center tab when you log in or refresh the page.  You can dismiss the district new page by clicking the small X in the upper right order of the tab.  If you are a Precinct Captain or higher, you have privileges to create District or Precinct news so everybody else can see the news when they log in.

To post new district news, simply fill in a headline and new story body and click the button.  The story will appear as the top story and move down as newer stories are posted.

PROCINCTmobile
If you direct your mobile device/phone to the web address on the PROCINCTmobile tab on the left, you can download the PROCINCTmobile app for your phone (or just go to the furnished web page.  Log in just as you do to PROCINCT desktop.  After you log in, you will be given three numbers to call in your neighborhood.  After calling the voter, dismiss that record from your screen by touching or clicking 'Please Choose' and record the disposition of that call.  You will not be given the same voter to call twice.  Later, we will add precinct/district controls so you can mark voters for scheduled call-backs.

Walking your neighborhood (or any neighborhood) will be added to PROCINCTmobile shortly.
